The oldest Kotravai sculpture of Tamil Nadu has been found near Ulundurpet with inscription (Ulundurpet Kotravai Statue). A team of historians consisting of Raj Panneer Selvam from Tiruvannamalai and Sridhar, Tamarai, Kumaravel, Udayaraja and Sudhakar were conducting field research in Ulundurpet area. Then in the village of Anganur, they investigated the existence of an idol of Kali on a slab of stone. Anganur village is a village under Ulundurpet circle of Kallakurichi district. This kotavai sculpture is located on the banks of a pond in the middle of Anganur village. Surrounded by trees, this Kotravai sculpture was found to be an eight-armed stone relief sculpture (Ulundurpet Kotravai Statue) about 5 feet high and 3 feet wide.A thick black crown decorates the head, an elongated round face, kundalam on both the ears, a radius-like band around the neck, bangles on all the shoulders and arms with a beautiful knot in the middle and a thigh-length dress=
