The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the PM Vidyalaxmi Scheme on November 6. The Union Cabinet has approved the PM Vidyalaxmi Scheme to provide loans of up to Rs 7.5 lakh to deserving students to cover full tuition fees and other course-related expenses. This PM Vidyalaxmi Scheme is a part of National Education Policy 2020. The central government will provide 75 percent loan guarantee for loans up to Rs 7.5 lakh. 3,600 crore will be available for the scheme from 2024-25 to 2030-31.
