Amaran is produced by Rajkamal Films and directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy. The film (Kamal Haasan On Amaran Success) is based on the life of late ex-serviceman Major Mukund. Sivakarthikeyan plays Major Mukund and Sai Pallavi plays his wife Indu. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music for the film.Following the martyrdom of Major Mukund Varadarajan, the Government of India awarded him the Ashoka Chakra. The story of Amaran starts from the point of view of Sai Pallavi who plays Mukund’s wife. Mukund is a Hindu senior at Madras Christian College. Mukund trains Indu to participate in a ramp walk competition in Pondicherry. Both begin to fall in love.
