Chandramukhi 2 directed by P. Vasu and starring Rajinikanth was a huge hit. Released in 2005, the film featured a star cast of Nayanthara, Vadivelu, Jyothika, Malavika, Nasser and Prabhu. Now they have shot the second part of the film after 18 years. Despite being titled Chandramukhi 2, none of the actors and actresses from the first part except Vadivelu have worked in the film. But the only connection between that film and this film is Vadivelu. Director P. Vasu had recently said at the audio launch that he has given a connection to these two stories by focusing only on his character. Raghava Lawrence plays the role of a hunter in this film. Similarly, actress Kangana Ranaut has played the character of Chandramukhi.Chandramukhi 2 has been produced by Lyca at a huge cost. Oscar-winning music composer Maragatamani has composed the music for the film.
