Now we can see about their history and celebrations.Ayudha Puja is associated with Navratri according to Puranas. Goddess Durga is said to have killed the demon Mahishasura at the junction of Navami and Ashtami, and Durga then laid down the weapons used for the vata. It is also said that they celebrated that day as Ayudha Puja. It is considered a celebration of Durga’s victory over the demon. According to the Mahabharata Purana, Arjuna, one of the Pandavas, hid his weapons under a vanni tree due to exile. When the exile was over, he was surprised to find that the weapons he had left had remained in the same place for so many days. He recovered the weapon and worshiped it and won the Kurushetra war. Then he came on the day of Vijayadashami and worshiped the Vanni tree. Thus on Dasami day, Vanni trees are worshiped in some parts of India.
